Cellphones...

Ok, so this past Sunday the service that we attended was interrupted twice by cell-phones going off. Our pastor Gerry has in the past made no bones about the fact that he hates cell-phone disruption, and cheerfully urges everyone in the congregation to boo when it does happen (which people have no problem doing). So.... in that spirit, he sent out an email with this attachment, and the title of the email was "Don't you just wish this would happen on occassion!"

A little animated?

So.. another work related post from Dan... we are always looking at different software that could give us better renderings/walkthrus - so I recently downloaded a trial version of 3DS Max, which is used for a lot of animation, computer games, advertisements etc. It's a hugely powerful program, so I have just started playing with it to see what I can produce. Definitely nothing high quality so far, but it's fun, and I thought it would be interesting to show. So here you go.

Something new...

So... sometimes it's nice just to re-arrange. This little clip encaptures the excitement of our newly arranged living room (and a little bit of the reporter in Jenn); hope you enjoy!

So... you think Winnipeg is flat?

Here's a little video from last winter that we both enjoy watching from time to time.

As Jenn proves in this little cross country skiing clip, Winnipeg is not flat. In fact she has to work extremely hard side-stepping down this slope to ensure that she does not go hurtling down the nearly vertical face. You can see from the speed that she gains at the end the danger that she has just narrowly averted.

To give her credit- the snow was a little bit icy and crusty that day, and it was only her second time cross-country skiing ever...

The latest exciting thing I've been doing for work is animated walkthrus & flyovers... This was my first attempt at learning how to create a walk thru in revit; which I then pulled into Windows Movie Maker, added sound, 'camera shots' from within the house, etc....
